On September 18 and 19, a team of experts from the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government (OR-TAMISEMI) visited the Regional Commission Office of Dar es Salaam and Temeke Municipality to assess key projects implemented by the Centre for Community Initiatives (CCI) in collaboration with the Tanzania Federation for the Urban Poor.
The visitation included tours of impactful projects such as
These projects have significantly improved the quality of life for residents, particularly in terms of economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and access to essential services like water.
The visit finalized with a meeting that brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from OR-TAMISEMI, Dar Es Salaam Regional Commission Office, Temeke Municipal Council, Dar es Salaam City Council, Centre for community Initiatives, CCI and members of the Tanzania Federation Groups who are directly involved in the project implementation.
During the meeting, experts provided valuable insights on how to enhance collaboration between government entities and CCI to further the impact of these initiatives. Government representatives appreciate the joint efforts of CCI and the Federation groups in addressing critical challenges faced by the community, particularly in improving income levels and living standards. The projects align with the government's broader agenda to uplift marginalized communities across Tanzania.
